  1.  Eat more frequently.  I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but it’s true.  Snacking between meals (with healthy snacks of course) will curb your appetite and help balance your blood sugar.  When done right, your cravings will lessen and your energy levels should improve.  Try it for a week and let me know what you think.
  2. Don’t give up your favorite foods.  What?!  That’s right!  Keep eating what you love, but here’s the caveat:  You must make it priority number one to add healthy fruits and vegetables (more vegetables than fruits) to each one of your meals and snacks.  If you keep this a habit, you should eventually adopt new favorite foods that are healthier, while your cravings for a lot of the not so good food will subside.  For example, if you have to have pizza, make sure you’re having a large salad also.  Try this for a month and see what happens.

Here in our office, we offer nutritional counseling and a great weight loss program. The goals of this program are to teach our patients about eating the right foods, portion control, and how to keep the weight off. This is all done while maintaining a higher energy level. This only makes sense, because the body will be getting the foods it thrives on. What I think is most valuable about this program is that our patients don't depend on special foods or products to keep the weight off. Once they're at their goal weight, they have the knowledge to maintain while eating real food. Keep an eye out for future blog posts that more specifically outline the program.
